Proposal strategy Analyst
Strategic Proposal Analyst is a key position leading the way we standardize our strategic approach to pricing all of our products and solutions by analyzing market price trends and internal cost trends to ensure proposals are market competitive. The Strtegic Proposal Analyst is a key contributor to our Sales Team and their primary focus will be on HICO Transformer products and may also involve other HICO offered equipment. The Strategic Proposal Analyst actively supports sales from a business aspect to assist with the selling of technical products and services. The Strategic Proposal Analyst is responsible for coordinating day-to-day commercial and technical issues at the bid stage within the HICO transformer product offering. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and further developing relationships across the territory including the local sales representative network, customers, and internal teams with the ultimate goal of growing sales revenue and profitability. THE NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:
- Responsible to quote based on three factories (US, Korea, China)
- Regular communication with HICO and factories to ensure that each bid is going through each process
- Review new RFQ requests received from the Sales Team prior to sending them to the Design Teams. RFQs are reviewed for accuracy including correct facility, reasonable return date, required attachments included and other administrative checks.
- Continuous work with design teams and production team to ensure quotes are delivered on schedule and have more competitive pricing along with securing slots
- Upon receipt of order, review contract including specifications, purchase order, and order write up to make sure information is matched with one at the latest bid stage
- Review and approve all bids and orders in the ERP system
- Support back up data and materials on adjusting the existing orders such as price increasing If necessary
- Assist sometimes in project functions with Sales and Project Managers (schedule changes, submittals receipt, and price issues)
- Help coordinate and work on potential relocations of product to various factories for efficiency reasons
- Responsibilities include supporting to outside sales, quotation/proposal preparation and follow-up, preparation reports to interim management in US, China and Korea and coordinating communications with factory staffs
- Request and receive expected shipping dates of equipment from foreign facilities monthly and share this information with internal Purchasing Team for inland transportation preparedness.
- Receive and process ocean freight requests from Project Managers. This requires checking for accuracy and complete information from Project Managers including confirmed facility Ex-Works date, packing lists, and other key data prior to requesting potential vessel options with freight forwarder.
- Track project ocean freight budgets and ensure that vessel options quotes received from freight forwarder are acceptable according to the original budget prior to sharing with Project Managers.
- Maintain a spreadsheet tracking key data related to each shipment and ensure timely sharing of ocean freight related documents, vessel options, vessel changes and vessel schedules with the Project Managers.
EDUCATION/SPECIAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING:
- A bachelor’s degree in business or economics. Other degrees may be acceptable with business related experiences.
- Must be proficient in Excel and exceptionally good with numbers
- Strong communication, interpersonal, customer service, and sales skills
- Bilingual preferred (Korean and English)
- Excellent technical and problem-solving skills
- Experience and working knowledge of manufacturing industry
- Minimum 1 years of working experience in the planning or management
- Similar experience in Sales and Technology within the Power Industry
