You will be working in the Building Services OU based in the Royal Papworth Hospital in Cambridge in where we are responsible for supporting hospitals nationwide, ensuring clean, well-ventilated, and heated spaces that aid patient recovery. We help cut energy use, carbon emissions, and waste costs, drawing on global best practice from over 400 healthcare projects.
We are currently looking for a Assistant Commercial Manager who will be responsible for administering commercial governance and activity across the project or portfolio.
As The Assistant Commercial Manager, You Will
- Ensure the Project discharges its contractual obligations.
- Prepare and submit Client applications for payment and ensure full recovery of all the contractual entitlements.
- Support the procurement procedures for the Subcontract packages including Scope of Works, quantification, Competitive Tender process or any other applicable tender route, package negotiations, and Subcontract documentation.
- Monitor and manage the Pre-Qualification Process (PQQ) in liaison with central procurement team including schedule of amendments to Contractual T&C’s.
- Administer the subcontractor WGRN payment process in accordance with Duty to Report / Governments Prompt Payment targets, working with internal and external stakeholders to resolve queries and ensure prompt payment.
- Support the Senior Commercial manager and commercial manager in the end-to-end commercial processes and procedures of non-chargeable works and chargeable works (Change Notices, Variations, paid reactive works) including accurate updating of trackers.
- Experience of working in a commercial role within the facilities management sector and with Client Representatives.
- Experience of Oracle or financial management system.
- Experience and general understanding of CAFM systems.
- Experience of contract documents (PFI is preferred).
- Mentoring junior team members in commercial awareness.
- Able to obtain relevant security clearance.
