Consilium Solutions is expanding and seeking a driven Cost Controller to join our Perth team. In this role, you will work closely with the Cost Manager, supporting delivery of major projects across a range of sectors. You will play a key role in managing project costs, ensuring accurate reporting, and maintaining effective financial control across all phases of the project, utilising Oracle Unifier as the primary cost management platform.
We are seeking a candidate with experience in construction or mining projects, strong attention to detail, and a proactive, positive attitude. Key Responsibilities
- Set up new projects within the cost management system using the estimate and establishing a control budget baseline to enable accurate performance measurement
- Track and monitor project costs, including labour, materials, equipment, and overheads
- Collect and consolidate commitments, actuals, forecasts, and progress data from contractors, and input into the cost management system
- Ensure contractors submit progress claims on time and are accurately assessed against approved budgets and quantities, escalating any cost or scope deviations promptly
- Assist with forecasting and cash flow planning to support project delivery
- Prepare weekly and monthly cost reports for stakeholders, management, and clients
- Maintain accurate cost allocations within the cost management system in line with WBS/CBS structures
- Adapt cost control processes, reporting formats, and system configurations to align with differing client requirements, governance structures, and reporting cycles on a project-by-project basis
- Provide general administrative and project support to the project team, internal stakeholders, and clients as required
About You
- Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Cost Controller, including at least 2 years within Australia, in the construction or resources sector
- Previous project controls experience on construction or mining projects is essential
- Solid, hands-on experience applying WBS/CBS cost structures, including calculating VOWD and accruals
- Strong experience using cost management systems, with a solid understanding of their functionality and application
- Proficiency in the use of Oracle Unifier is desirable
- Commercial or contract administration experience is desirable, with exposure to contract terms, variations, and claims considered advantageous
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- A driven and ambitious attitude, with a genuine desire to identify and drive improvements to processes and ways of working
