Position Summary

Banner Environmental is hiring an Estimator to review project information, complete quantity takeoffs, develop pricing, and prepare clear, competitive proposals for our asbestos, mold, demolition, and environmental remediation work across New England. You'll work closely with our sales team, Bid/Sales Coordinator, vendors, subcontractors, and Operations to make sure every bid is accurate, complete, and submitted on time.

Key Responsibilities

• Review bid invitations, plans, specifications, and addenda; confirm scope, deadlines, and submission requirements.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and site walk-throughs, documenting site conditions, quantities, and customer requirements.
• Complete accurate quantity takeoffs and build out labor, material, equipment, disposal, and subcontractor costs.
• Obtain and compare vendor, disposal, and subcontractor quotes, and apply approved production rates and markups.
• Solicit and obtain pricing from subcontractors and develop accurate, complete project budgets.
• Prepare clear scopes of work, pricing, alternates, exclusions, and clarifications, and review each proposal for accuracy before submission.
• Keep bid statuses and estimate documentation current in the job folder / ERP, and update pricing when addenda are issued.
• Provide a clean handoff to Operations on awarded projects, including estimate backup and project risks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate's or bachelor's degree or relevant technical training a plus.
• Experience in environmental, demolition, construction, or remediation estimating preferred.
• Ability to read plans, specifications, surveys, and scopes of work.
• Strong math, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Excel, Word, Outlook, and estimating / electronic takeoff software.
• Ability to manage multiple estimates and changing deadlines with strong attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with asbestos, mold, demolition, or remediation scopes of work.
• Familiarity with public and municipal bidding requirements (DCAMM, prevailing wage).
• Valid driver's license for site walk-throughs.
