Position Overview
Primary Purpose Of Position
The primary mission of the Office of Sponsored Programs is to support sponsored research activities at the University. The Grants Administrator is a professional within the Office of Sponsored Programs. The position will report directly to the Director of Sponsored Programs and be responsible for providing substantive professional advice on the development of project proposals with an emphasis on budget development and review. This position will work with the negotiation of grant budgets with sponsoring agencies with regard to the terms and conditions that cover the conduct of research related to external funding. This position will require a strong
financial background as well as a working knowledge of the external funding process.
Primary Function Of Organizational Unit
The Division of Research provides services to faculty and student researchers, to current and potential research partners, funding agencies, and economic development agencies. It is headed by the Vice Chancellor for Research and Economic Development. The Office of Contracts and Grants is responsible for the financial and regulatory administration of all contracts & grants awarded to N.C. A&T.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree with 12 credit hours of accounting coursework; or Associate’s degree in Accounting; or Associate’s degree in Business or related discipline with 12 credit hours of accounting coursework; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
