Job Title: Program Finance Accounting Analyst

Location: Lynchburg, VA (Onsite)

Duration: 12+ Months (Temp-to-Hire)

Job Summary

We are seeking a Program Finance Accounting Analyst to support a Managed Services finance team. The ideal candidate will have 2–4 years of accounting or finance experience, strong Excel skills, and the ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment. This role focuses on financial reporting, forecasting, contract accounting, and month-end close activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage contract setups, renewals, revenue recognition, invoicing, and contract closures.
• Prepare month-end journal entries and financial reports.
• Perform financial forecasting, budget tracking, and variance analysis.
• Reconcile invoices and analyze contract costs versus actuals.
• Support internal and external audits.
• Collaborate with finance, sales operations, customer service, and program teams.
• Generate ad hoc financial reports and analysis.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 2–4 years of accounting or finance experience.
• Strong accounting knowledge and financial reporting skills.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP).
• Experience with accounting systems.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of revenue recognition and double-entry accounting.
• Experience with Power BI, Snowflake, or Alteryx.
• Cost variance analysis (Actual vs. Forecast).
• Experience with SAP or Hyperion reporting is a plus.
