Business Overview
The role serves as the Canadian extension of Fidelity International’s Global Market Data function, supporting market data governance, administration, vendor management, compliance, reporting, and cost optimization. This position partners closely with business, technology, global market data teams, and external vendors to ensure efficient service delivery and alignment with global operating models and governance frameworks.
What You Will Do
- Market Data Governance & Vendor Management Manage relationships with market data vendors including Bloomberg, LSEG, MSCI, FactSet, S&P, and Moody’s. Support contract negotiations, service reviews, and vendor performance management while ensuring alignment with global strategies and governance standards.
- Market Data Administration & Operations Oversee day-to-day market data administration activities, including onboarding/offboarding, entitlement management, invoice validation, inventory maintenance, and usage monitoring to ensure accurate controls and reporting.
- Stakeholder Support & Business Partnership Act as a trusted advisor to business and technology stakeholders by providing mentorship on market data solutions, assessing business requirements, and supporting strategic initiatives with efficient and compliant data services.
- Financial Management, Compliance & Reporting Support budgeting and forecasting through market data usage and spend analysis. Produce reporting and dashboards while ensuring compliance with vendor licensing agreements, internal policies, and audit requirements.
- Issue Resolution & Continuous Improvement Serve as the primary escalation point for market data service issues, coordinating with vendors and global teams to resolve incidents and drive ongoing process, governance, and cost-efficiency improvements.
- University degree in Business, Finance, Technology, or related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 5+ years of market data experience within the financial services industry.
- Good understanding of market data products, including terminals, real-time and reference data, indices, ratings, research platforms, licensing models, and governance practices.
- Experience managing vendor relationships, contracts, and service performance.
- Strong analytical, reporting, and cost optimization capabilities.
- Proficiency with Excel, Power BI, and other reporting tools.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Exposure to audit, risk, or regulatory environments.
- Preferred FISD, IMC, or other relevant market data or financial services certifications.
For this role, your total rewards include
- Base Salary and Discretionary Performance Bonus Total annual cash compensation (base salary plus target bonus) ranges from $68,000 to $90,000, based on experience and qualifications.
- RRSP Contribution After 6 months of employment, we invest in your future with an RRSP contribution—no employee matching required.
