Position Summary
We are seeking a Project Analyst to work out of our West Allis, WI office. The Project Analyst supports the successful execution of power generation inspection, repair, upgrade, and new-equipment projects by maintaining accurate project controls, financial records, documentation, schedules, and contract deliverables. This role supports Project Managers, Project Accountants, Purchasing, Sales/Proposals, and internal operations teams by coordinating project setup, reporting, milestone tracking, invoicing support, and cost reconciliation activities. Success is measured by accurate project records, timely reporting, compliant documentation, reliable financial support, and effective follow-up on project milestones, action items, and open issues.
Essential Duties
- Track and monitor project budgets, costs, forecasts, revenue, and financial performance.
- Review contracts, purchase orders, and project documentation to ensure accurate project setup and billing.
- Maintain project information in ERP and project management systems.
- Analyze project costs and financial results, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions.
- Support customer invoicing by tracking progress, verifying billing information, and preparing supporting documentation.
- Create purchase requisitions and review vendor invoices for accuracy and proper project allocation.
- Coordinate with internal teams to resolve project cost issues and keep financial records up to date.
- Prepare project reports that summarize financial performance, cost trends, schedules, and project status.
- Complete post-project financial reviews and compare actual results to budgets and forecasts.
- Participate in project meetings and provide financial insights to support business decisions.
- Assist with project administration activities, including purchasing, reporting, documentation, and data maintenance.
- Provide guidance and support to project teams on project financial processes, systems, and reporting practices.
- Bachelor’s Degree required in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in project cost control, project accounting, financial analysis, estimating, project administration, or a related project controls function required.
- Experience supporting project budgets, cost tracking, revenue forecasting, invoicing milestones, variance analysis, and project financial reporting required.
- Experience using ERP systems for project setup, cost tracking, reporting, purchasing, or invoicing required.
- Experience partnering cross-functionally with Project Management, Accounting, Operations, Engineering, Field Service, or external customers preferred.
The employee must be able to lift up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision and Ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, and hear. The employee is frequently required to walk. The employee is occasionally required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
Work Environment
The majority of this work takes place in an office and the work environment is that of a typical office environment in a manufacturing setting where noise levels are usually moderate. Frequently the employee will interact with personnel in the plant where he/she may be exposed to higher noise levels.
