This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a newly established function that will play an important role in supporting procurement outcomes across the organisation.
As the Sourcing Specialist, you will support the delivery of the centralised sourcing service by managing RFQs, coordinating supplier engagement, supporting quotation activities and ensuring compliant procurement outcomes. Working closely with internal stakeholders, you will help streamline sourcing processes, improve efficiency and contribute to better commercial outcomes across the City of Melbourne.
A Little More About The Role
In this role you will:
- Coordinate RFQ and quotation activities across agreed branches
- Support stakeholders through the end to end sourcing and quotation process
- Prepare, manage and track quotations to ensure timely delivery and compliance
- Liaise with suppliers throughout sourcing activities
- Support value for money outcomes through effective sourcing practices
- Assist in identifying opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies
- Monitor quotation performance, turnaround times and service outcomes
- Provide reporting and analysis on sourcing activity and supplier usage
- Ensure procurement processes comply with governance requirements and organisational policies
- Support development of specifications and sourcing documentation
- Maintain accurate procurement records and supporting documentation
- Contribute to a positive customer experience for internal stakeholders and suppliers
You bring strong attention to detail, effective communication skills and a passion for improving processes and service delivery. You enjoy working across multiple priorities, building relationships and helping stakeholders navigate procurement requirements.

What Your Experience Might Look Like
- Experience in procurement, sourcing, contracts administration or a related commercial role
- Experience coordinating RFQs, quotations or purchasing activities
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality outcomes
- Experience working within procurement governance and compliance frameworks
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience using procurement, sourcing or contract management systems
- Ability to analyse information and identify process improvement opportunities
- Relevant qualifications in procurement, business, commerce, supply chain or a related discipline
