Essential Responsibilities
Risk and Compliance Administration
- Performs research as assigned, including both library and internet-based research to ensure contracts and operations are aligned and compliant with regional, industry, state, and federal regulations as well as Liliʻuokalani Trust policies and procedures.
- Creates tracking systems and procedures to ensure all compliance documents are up to date in accordance with set timelines.
- Collaborates with teammates to gain overarching understanding of Liliʻuokalani Trust operations and need for standard operating procedures on the area of compliance maintenance. Partners with other Liliʻuokalani Trust leaders to draft Standard Operating Procedures proposals and process tracking systems.
- Under direction of Risk and Compliance Director, evaluates tracking systems and procedures to verify effectiveness and accuracy of operations as well as identifying areas for improvement and corrective action.
- Maintain risk and compliance documents in compliance with Liliʻuokalani Trust procedures.
- Contributes to Liliʻuokalani Trust’s success through collaboration, communication, and knowledge-sharing with all teammates to improve team and organizational results.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Associate’s degree in Paralegal/Legal Studies or equivalent combination of education and related experience. Preferred, Bachelor’s degree.
- Three years of office experience.
- At least one year of risk, compliance, and/or contract related experience preferred.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel and PowerPoint and experience.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment with tight deadline to meet and is results-driven.
- Skill in exercising initiative, resourcefulness, and sound judgment with an ability to solve problems and make decisions.
- Skill in prioritizing ongoing and new projects, as well as conducting research and gathering information for legal purposes.
- Skill in communicating efficiently and effectively both orally and in writing with a variety of people internal and external to the organization.
- Skill in continuously seeking to improve the quality of service and processes.
