The successful candidate is expected to work closely with Partners, Project Managers, Finance teams, Quality Risk Management teams, and delivery teams to ensure project financials are properly managed, key risks are identified in a timely manner, and project performance is effectively tracked and communicated.
This is a hands-on role suitable for candidates who have a solid finance background, strong project management awareness, and excellent English communication skills and excellent Excel skills
Key Responsibilities
- Support the financial management of large-scale and complex consulting projects, including project budget tracking, revenue recognition, cost monitoring, margin analysis, billing, collection, WIP, and risk management.
- Prepare and maintain regular project financial reports, including actual performance, forecast, budget variance, financial risks, and key action items.
- Work closely with Project Managers and project leadership to monitor project progress, resource utilization, budget consumption, and potential overrun risks.
- Support project governance processes, including project financial reviews, risk review meetings, management reporting, and follow-up on agreed actions.
- Assist in project setup and ongoing project operations, including charge code management, resource booking, time charge monitoring, and project closure.
- Identify financial and operational risks at an early stage and provide clear analysis and recommendations to support leadership decision-making.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including Finance, Quality Risk Management teams, staffing, and delivery teams, to resolve project-related financial and operational issues.
- Support the preparation of management-level presentations and financial updates for senior stakeholders.
- Help improve project control processes, reporting templates, and financial tracking mechanisms to enhance efficiency and consistency across projects.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant working experience in project accountant, project control, finance BP, PMO, project management, or related areas.
- Strong finance background is preferred, with good understanding of project P&L, revenue, cost, margin, billing, collection, WIP and financial forecasting.
- Solid project management experience or strong understanding of project delivery lifecycle, including budgeting, forecasting, resource planning, risk tracking, and project governance.
- Fluent English communication skills. The candidate should be comfortable communicating with senior stakeholders in English and preparing English reports or presentations.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret financial data, identify key issues, and summarize complex information clearly.
- Good communication skills, with the ability to work with Partners, Project Managers, Finance teams, and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills. Experience with financial systems, project management tools, or data visualization tools is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Project Management, or related disciplines.
- Experience in consulting firms, professional services firms, or multinational companies is preferred.
- PMP, or other relevant professional qualifications would be a plus but are not mandatory.
