About the Role
The Financial PMO will play a critical role in financial oversight, project governance, strategic execution, and operational excellence across the organization. This position is responsible for bridging delivery operations with FP&A and corporate finance ensuring the successful execution of projects by maintaining rigorous financial controls, optimizing PMO processes, and delivering robust analytical support. The Financial PMO will act as a central bridge between project managers, finance teams, and leadership to drive profitability, efficiency, and cross-functional alignment in a fast-paced environment.
Summary of Key Responsibilities
- Financial Ownership & FP&A: Own the end-to-end processes for project financial forecasting, budget variance analysis, revenue recognition, margin optimization, and month-end closing, ensuring absolute accuracy and timely delivery of financial reports.
- Track & Monitor: Partner with project managers to track project lifespans, ensuring strict adherence to timelines, milestones, and financial/budgetary constraints.
- Dashboards & Insights: Design, maintain, and distribute regular high-impact financial and operational dashboards for leadership, highlighting financial KPIs, revenue performance, and delivery metrics.
- Risk Management: Proactively identify project bottlenecks, financial exposure, revenue slippage, and operational risks, collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement mitigation strategies.
- Resource Allocation: Support the optimization of resource allocation across multiple parallel projects to maximize billability and delivery efficiency.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify operational and financial inefficiencies, implementing PMO best practices, standard operating procedures, and financial controls.
- Tools & Systems: Serve as the internal champion for project management and financial tracking tools; provide guidance, onboarding, and troubleshooting support to cross-functional teams.
Requirements
- Finance Background: Required. Strong background in Corporate Finance, FP&A, Project Accounting, or Financial Planning & Analysis.
- Degree: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related analytical field.
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in an FP&A, Financial Control, PMO, or Financial Operations role within a dynamic environment.
- Industry: Proven experience working within a high-tech company, cloud services, software industry, or similarly fast-paced corporate environment.
- Advanced Excel: Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel (complex financial models, formulas, pivot tables, data modeling, and enterprise data analysis).
- Tools & ERPs: Strong proficiency with project management platforms (e.g., Jira, Smartsheet, MS Project, Asana, Salesforce) and financial/ERP software.
- Analytical Mindset: Exceptional quantitative problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to strategic planning and continuous improvement.
- Communication: Stellar interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interface confidently with finance leaders, delivery leads, and executives.
- Execution: Highly detail-oriented with a strong commitment to financial precision, data integrity, and meeting tight deadlines.
- Adaptability: Proven ability to multitask, prioritize effectively, and thrive in an ambiguous, rapidly changing environment.
