The Team
Our Infrastructure and Capital Projects practice is comprised of over 600 sector experts and specialized consultants across the Globe. We combine strategic and operational expertise with a deep technical knowledge to support developers, sponsors, lenders, and projects leader to select, structure, improve and execute Capital Projects in a more efficient and sustainable way.
The Cost Controller is responsible for managing cost control functions for the project, ensuring financial oversight, forecasting, and reporting. The incumbent will work closely with project management, supply chain, and engineering teams to maintain budget alignment, track expenditures, and ensure adherence to financial targets.
How You Will Contribute
- Develop and implement project cost control systems to track and forecast financial performance.
- Monitor project scope control, cost coding structures, and budget allocation.
- Manage cost reporting, trend analysis, and forecasting activities to support decision-making.
- Ensure all procurement packages have assigned budgets and are accurately cost-coded.
- Coordinate accruals and financial reporting with accounting teams.
- Oversee the maintenance of a variation register and ensure proper coding and budget allocation.
- Provide special cost studies, including cash flow projections and foreign exchange variations.
- Prepare and submit monthly cost accounting and forecasting reports.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in project cost control for large-scale industrial projects.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with proficiency in cost management software.
- Knowledge of financial reporting standards and cost control best practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

The salary range is $140,000 - $180,000 CAD annually, dependent on several variables including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography. In addition, A&M offers a discretionary bonus program which is based on a number of factors, including individual and firm performance. Please ask your recruiter for details.
