For our big project in Geneva, we are looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join the project team.
Reporting to the Contract Manager and working closely with the Project Manager, you will support the commercial and contractual management of the project, ensuring accurate cost control, payment applications, variation management, and subcontract administration.
Key Responsibilities
- Supports the Contract Manager and Project Manager in the contractual and commercial management of the project.
- Manages contractual matters related to both the main contract with the Client and subcontracts with designers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Prepares commercial documentation required for Client payment applications, ensuring compliance with contractual payment procedures.
- Develops cost estimates for Client-instructed variations.
- Prepares and submits variation proposals to the Client, using BoQ unit rates or establishing new rates aligned with the project’s commercial framework.
- Assists the Contract Manager in the evaluation, quantification, and preparation of additional requests and claims submitted to the Client.
- Responsible for the valuation of subcontractors’ work and the preparation of related interim payment certificates.
- Coordinates with technical project teams to verify work progress and quantities for payment purposes.
- Reviews additional requests from designers, subcontractors, and suppliers, ensuring contractual and commercial compliance.
- Supports the Contract Manager in the management of claims, variations, and contractual amendments involving designers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Contributes to the monitoring and control of the project’s commercial and contractual performance, ensuring proper cost management and contract compliance.
Requirements
- Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or equivalent technical qualification.
- 1-5 years of experience in a similar role within the construction industry.
- Good knowledge of cost control and contract administration.
- Excellent proficiency in MS Excel and the Microsoft Office suite.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proactive attitude and ability to work in a team.
- Knowledge of SIA and KBOB standards is an advantage.
- Fluent English and Italian
- French and/or German are considered a plus.
