Job Description
The Employment Operations & Records unit of UF Human Resources is responsible for all electronic transactions that support the hiring and employment changes during the lifecycle of UF employees. As part of this team, the Employment Specialist I works in partnership with UF departments to ensure the efficiency and accuracy of employment-related actions while ensuring compliance with laws and regulations.
Essential Functions
Responsible for evaluating and approving employment transactions for faculty, staff, and temporary employees.
- Types of ePAF actions may include hires, job edits, additional payments, and employment status changes.
- Provides subject matter expertise in relation to university, state, and federal employment policies and guidelines.
- The incumbent will review hire paperwork to ensure proper federal, state, and UF compliance, including but not limited to reviewing I-9 documents and E-Verify for employment eligibility.
- Assists departmental administrators with questions regarding employment requirements such as, but not limited to salary minimums, employment salary plans, hiring requirements for each salary plan, and the required paperwork that must be submitted to ensure compliance with regulations, policies, and laws.
- Assist departments and UF employment to correct identity data in myUFL.
- Aids with login issues regarding the onboarding system.
- Works in collaboration with supervisor to solve issues that require more complex troubleshooting.

Expected Salary
$19.16/hour
