Job Description
Level I: The Sponsored Programs Officer I is an entry-level position within UF’s Division of Sponsored Programs responsible for learning and facilitating a wide range of sponsored programs administration activities. Entry-level professional with limited or no prior experience; learns to use professional concepts to resolve problems of limited scope and complexity; works on developmental assignments that are initially routine in nature, requiring limited judgment and decision making.
Level II: An experienced-level position within UF’s Division of Sponsored Programs responsible for facilitating a wide range of sponsored programs administration activities. Professional who knows how to apply theory and put it into practice; possesses broad job knowledge; analyzes problems/issues of diverse scope and determines solutions.
Level III: A experienced-level position within UF’s Division of Sponsored Programs responsible for facilitating a wide range of sponsored programs administration activities, including managing the most highly complex pre-award and non-financial post award transactions related to sponsored programs administration. Experienced professional who knows how to apply theory and put it into practice with in-depth understanding of the professional field; possesses broad job knowledge; analyzes problems/issues of diverse scope and determines solutions.

Required Qualifications
Level I: Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area; or an equivalent combination of education and
experience in research administration.
Level II: Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area and two years of experience in sponsored program
administration; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Level III: Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area and three years of experience in sponsored program
administration; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred
Level I: Facility to learn electronic research administration software preferred. In addition, skills required include: the ability to provide excellent customer service; excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- ability to work independently and with others
- ability to search out federal, sponsor and university policy and guidance and apply critical thinking skills to make effective decisions; negotiation skills;
- ability to maintain positive and effective working relationships; effectiveness in use of electronic business applications with other systems; experience in the Microsoft Office suite; experience in PeopleSoft grants; experience at the University of Florida; and being a strong problem solver, seeking win-win answers.
