About the role

We are seeking a detail-oriented financial professional to lead cost transparency and governance across our client's enterprise technology spend. In this role, you will evaluate technology expenditures, audit chargeback mechanisms, verify expense documentation, and build an ongoing monthly oversight framework to ensure fiscal accuracy and operational discipline.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate monthly IT expenses to pinpoint cost drivers, trend shifts, and unusual spend patterns.
  • Perform cross-system reconciliations between central ledger systems and underlying source files, detailing and documenting any discrepancies.
  • Audit Cost Allocation Model (CAM) distribution rules to ensure charges strictly follow established cost-sharing frameworks.
  • Cross-examine expense allocations against actual consumption metrics, software licenses, or asset counts to detect calculation errors or unmapped line items.
  • Partner with allocation owners to resolve misaligned mappings, duplicate charges, or obsolete distribution rules.
  • Inspect underlying transaction records (including vendor invoices, purchase orders, contracts, and usage logs) for proper authorization and backing documentation.
  • Confirm that all technology expenditures are booked accurately against the correct legal entity, cost center, and project code.
  • Establish a structured monthly governance calendar complete with standardized review templates, input deadlines, and action-item tracking.
  • Audit monthly financial postings to verify approval compliance, challenge unapproved variances, and formalize any updates to allocation logic or scope.
  • Author a monthly executive management information (MI) report highlighting validated spend, allocation adjustments, operational risks, and open remediation steps.

About you

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • 3–6 years of experience in financial planning and analysis (FP&A), cost governance, or technology finance within a complex corporate or regulated environment.
  • Expertise in financial reconciliations, tracing ledger balances to primary source documents, and synthesizing complex datasets.
  • Practical knowledge of internal cost-allocation models (CAM), operational chargebacks, and activity-based costing methods.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data modeling, complex formulas, and pivot tables; PowerQuery experience is highly regarded).
  • Meticulous attention to detail with the ability to navigate incomplete datasets, challenge stakeholders constructively, and bring open audit actions to resolution.
