Summary
The Aerospace Contract Specialist supports the legal and contracts team by preparing, reviewing, and managing a wide range of aerospace‑related agreements. This role helps ensure that contracts comply with company policies, industry regulations, and customer requirements. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, organized, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced, highly regulated environment.
Core Responsibilities
- Assist in drafting, reviewing, and editing aerospace contracts, including NDAs, supplier agreements, purchase orders, licensing agreements, and government‑related documents.
- Support contract negotiations by preparing summaries, redlines, and issue lists for attorney review.
- Maintain contract databases, track deadlines, and monitor contract lifecycle milestones.
- Conduct legal and regulatory research related to aerospace requirements, export controls, and compliance obligations.
- Coordinate with internal teams such as engineering, supply chain, compliance, and finance to gather information needed for contract preparation.
- Ensure all contract documentation meets internal standards and aligns with applicable laws, including FAR/DFARS when relevant.
- Assist with preparing contract packages, approvals, and signature routing.
- Organize and maintain electronic and physical contract files for audit readiness.
- Support attorneys with special projects, due diligence, and document preparation as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree or paralegal certificate preferred.
- Experience in contracts, legal support, or paralegal work; aerospace or defense industry experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with contract terminology and basic legal concepts.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast‑moving environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and contract management systems.
- Understanding of contract structure and key terms including applicable FAR/DFARS
- Ability to read and interpret technical and legal documents
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- High level of confidentiality and professionalism
- Comfort working with cross‑functional teams
- Ability to adapt to evolving regulatory and customer requirements
