Tasks May Include
- Work closely with principal investigators and diverse technical teams to develop plans and monitor program execution
- Track and manage project work scope, schedule, cost, deliverables, risks, and help coordinate resource planning of multiple parallel efforts
- Prepare detailed budgets, establish estimates-to-complete estimates, and assist in preparation of vendor RFPs and quotation packages
- Support integration and test of APS technologies with Navy systems
- Oversee, document, and record/report results from lab and field test events
- Prepare slides for customer meetings and help lead internal engineering meetings, take notes, and distribute actions
- Lead consolidation of technical data package(s) and other related deliverables and submission to the government
- Support management of subcontractors and vendors through regular interaction, formal status updates, and on-site evaluations, including the disposition of defective hardware, subcontractor schedule risk mitigation, and evaluation of alternative technologies or components
- Coordinate compiling past performance data and new quotes in support of new proposals
- Reconciliation of subcontractor reported spending and invoices
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field
- 3-5 years of project management experience, preferably in DoD R&D or production environments
- Excellent verbal and written communication in order to accurately document and report findings to colleagues, customers, vendors, etc.
- Exceptional organization skills, note taking, and following up on actions
- Proficiency in MS Project, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint
- Experience working in a multidisciplinary engineering environment
- PMP certification
- Familiarity and experience with Enterprise Resource Planning tools encompassing project and resource planning
- Strong understanding of the defense industry, particularly undersea or maritime technology
- Experience supporting low-rate production of technically complex hardware
- Active security clearance
- Familiarity with Solidworks
