Role Purpose

To prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for HVAC duct manufacturing projects by analyzing drawings, specifications, and project requirements, ensuring alignment with production capabilities. 

Key Accountabilities
  • Estimation & Costing 
  • Review project drawings and specifications.
  • Perform detailed quantity take-offs (ducts, fittings, accessories).
  • Prepare accurate cost estimates covering: 
  • Raw materials (GI, PI, MS, aluminum, SS, etc.)
  • Accessories 
  • Technical Review: Ensure compliance with:  
  • SMACNA standards 
  • Project specifications 
  • Local authority requirements
  • Identify potential design or constructability issues early. 
  • Coordinate with:  
  • Production department (for fabrication feasibility) 
  • Sales and project teams 
  • Cost Control & Improvement 
  • Sales and project teams 
  • Track estimation vs. actual cost deviations.
  • Continuously improve estimation accuracy and efficiency.
  • Maintain records of past estimates for benchmarking and improving accuracy. 

 

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical / HVAC Engineering OR equivalent technical field 

  • 3–5 years in HVAC duct manufacturing or estimation role. 

  • Experience in duct fabrication factory is mandatory. 

  • AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel (advanced), CAMDuct, CUTExpert (preferred)
