The company offers the opportunity to those who wish to express interest in the position of "Project Cost and Estimating Specialist | Ειδικός Κόστους & Εκτιμήσεων Έργων", for its premises in Chalkidiki. The position will be reported to the Director of Mining Studies & Capital Projects of the Capital Projects department in Skouries.
Main Responsibilities:
- Development of detailed estimating plans, including methodologies, accuracy ranges, WBS alignment, allowances, escalation, and contingency.
- Preparation of Basis of Estimate (BoE) for review and approval by the Capital Project Manager (CPM).
- Compilation of CAPEX estimates, integrating scope, engineering inputs, and project requirements.
- Application of discipline-specific estimating factors across civils, structural steel, platework, piping, electrical, and instrumentation.
- Integration of mechanical and equipment pricing into overall project estimates.
- Execution of quantity take-offs and material measurement (bulk and detailed) from drawings and models.
- Measurement and reconciliation of quantities for earthworks, civils, steelwork, piping, and E&I with engineering consultants.
- Contribution to preparation of tender and enquiry documentation, including scope, specifications, schedules, and commercial requirements.
- Support of tender evaluation and adjudication processes, including rate analysis, assessment of preliminaries (P&Gs), and review of commercial deviations.
- Preparation of monthly progress valuations, payment certificates, and cost reports for construction packages.
- Management and assessment of variations and contractual claims, including reporting, negotiation support, and approvals.
- Maintenance of commercial registers, including change, variation, concession, claims, and correspondence tracking.
- Conduct of estimate reviews and validations, including MTO verification, pricing checks, benchmarking, and WBS ("Golden Thread") integrity.
- Participation in quantitative risk analysis (QRA), assessing scope, quantity, rate, schedule uncertainty, and indirect cost risks.
- Coordination and communication with project stakeholders, including project managers, engineers, planners, and shared services, providing commercial guidance across the project lifecycle
- Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline.
- 4-8 years of project cost estimating and project controls experience, preferably in mining, minerals processing, heavy industrial, or infrastructure environments.
- Formal training in Quantity Surveying (QS) or Cost Engineering environment is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in cost estimation and project control systems and software tools
- Professional certification or enrolment with RICS or an equivalent recognized professional body.
- Strong communication and stakeholder coordination skills across engineering, planning, and commercial teams.
- Strong understanding of project governance, compliance, and administrative control processes.
- High level of professionalism, accuracy, and attention to detail in commercial reporting
- Good knowledge in English language
- Knowledge of applicable national laws, construction regulations, standards, and technical specifications.
- Experience in brownfield, sustaining capital, shutdown, and operational improvement projects.
- Experience working within Owner, EPCM, or contractor organizations in mining or industrial operations.
- Hands-on experience in measurement, certification of completed works, and evaluation of contractor claims.
- Exposure to schedule progress measurement, forecasting, and cost reporting in live project environments.
- Experience in contract administration and understanding of construction and contracting law
- Valid Driver's Licence
