The Decision Support / Financial Analyst of the UCM Medical Group will report to the UCM Medical Group Manager of Finance and will provide day to day support including financial analytics and related reporting to medical group leadership to support management decision making to drive overall financial performance. The analyst will also support the preparation of monthly financial reports and key performance indicators, support physician compensation and modeling, participation in the annual budget cycle and provide as needed adhoc analysis upon request. This role is critical to the financial success of the Community Medical Group.
Essential Job Functions
- Prepare and distribute standard monthly financial reporting to medical group leadership to provide clarity of financial performance for the medical group.
- Biweekly, monthly, quarterly and annual preparation of variable physician compensation calculations to ensure accurate and timely payment of physician compensation and productivity bonuses.
- Prepare and support annual physician compensation models and related financial analytics.
- Participation in the preparation of the annual financial plan and budget including the development of volume and revenue budgets, annual operating expenses and related reporting
- Support the preparation of Monthly Operating Reviews (MORs) with practice managers to drive line of site on financial performance and provide education and training as needed.
- Supports the maintenance and improvement of department business applications including physician compensation reporting from Tableau and Business Intelligence (BI).
- 0-2 years’ experience in finance at a healthcare system, preferably an academic healthcare system
- Analytics – This person will be performing a range of basic to complex financial analytics and data modeling. Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) used daily as well as other financial systems.
- Project Management – This person should be familiar with project management concepts as they will be managing one major project and playing a key role in others.
- Customer Service – The team provides a service to the entire hospital, and as such it is important that we engage in a way that builds trust and engagement. Strong relationship management and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

- Excellent oral and written communication skills are required
- Experience in the development, implementation and ongoing utilization of automated budget/financial systems and BI reporting platforms is desired
- Fluent in excel, MS Office and SQL
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Health Care Administration, or related field, with relevant financial
