Charges Officer - Operational Cost Controller

Steen & Strøm Denmark, is looking for a Charges Officer to join the Finance team, located at Fields shopping center in Copenhagen.

POSITION SUMMARY

In this role, you work closely with our other Charges Officer, and together you ensure that our Service Charge processes run smoothly across Denmark, Sweden and Norway. As a Charges Officer at Steen & Strøm, you take responsibility for how operating costs are budgeted, allocated and settled for our shopping centers. This means you translate operational activities into accurate financial processes — ensuring that costs are correctly captured, fairly distributed and clearly communicated.

You become a key point of contact for budgeting, settlements, CAPEX and financial analysis, and you help secure transparency and accuracy in all service charge related matters. You collaborate closely with Rental, Accounting and our Shopping Center teams, supporting them with data, insights and process guidance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Take part in the annual Budget Process
• Managing CAPEX (maintenance and depreciation)
• Uploading, maintaining and analyzing meter management
• Handling Property Tax & Insurance
• Conducting benchmarking and cost analytics
• Ensuring strong cost control
• Providing support and guidance to our Shopping Centers
• Maintaining and improving our Annual Wheel / Process Overview

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR

You have a bachelor’s degree in finance or a related field, and experience from a similar role — ideally within real estate or an environment where costs are recharged to tenants.

You’re someone who enjoys structure, accuracy and ownership. You like improving processes, spotting patterns in data, and collaborating with colleagues across functions and countries.

In particular:

• Solid knowledge of accounting standards
• Strong analytical skills
• Fluent in Danish, Swedish or Norwegian
• Excellent communication skills in English
• Proficiency in SAP, Excel and other finance tools
• A structured, detail oriented and proactive work style
• A service minded approach and comfort working cross functionally

• Typical Hours: Full-time
• Location: Based in our office in Copenhagen
• Due to summer vacation, we will get back to you during the 2nd week of August
