Role Description The Project Control Specialist is a full-time, on-site role located in Columbus, Ohio, supporting building automation projects from planning through completion. This position is responsible for tracking project costs, preparing and updating budgets, and monitoring financial performance against forecasts. Daily tasks include analyzing project data, reviewing invoices and change orders, assisting with schedule and resource planning, and maintaining accurate cost and status reports for internal teams and clients. The Specialist collaborates closely with project managers, engineers, and accounting to ensure financial controls are in place and risks are identified early. The role also involves preparing regular progress summaries, supporting compliance with company standards, and contributing to continuous improvement of project control processes.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated project financial oversight skills, including Project Control and Cost Management.
- Strong Cost Control capabilities, with experience managing and tracking project expenditures.
- Proficiency in Budgeting, including development, monitoring, and reporting of project budgets.
- Well-developed Analytical Skills, with the ability to interpret data and identify trends or variances.
- Experience with project management or ERP software and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent organizational, documentation, and communication abilities, with attention to detail.
- Ability to work on-site in Columbus, Ohio, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and manage multiple priorities.
- Relevant education such as an associate or bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience in project controls or construction/engineering environments.
- Knowledge of building automation, construction, or mechanical/electrical systems is beneficial.
