Contract Administrator
Indexed description
The role
Most CA seats in Sydney serve up the same project on repeat. This one doesn't. One month you're pricing a heritage refurbishment, the next you're locking in subcontract packages on a high-end restaurant build or a national retail rollout - the kind of commercial breadth that's almost impossible to find in a single seat.
Our client is a boutique construction company delivering award-winning retail, hospitality and commercial fitouts for some of Sydney's most recognised architects, designers and operators. Since the early 2000s, they've built a reputation on precision and design integrity - projects that end up in portfolios, not just project registers.
The business is small enough that your work is actually seen, and they have a strong track record of promoting from within. This is a CA role with genuine commercial ownership attached - not a support seat.
What you'll do
You'll own the commercial side of live projects end-to-end: subcontractor procurement, contract administration, variations, cost tracking and final accounts. Working closely with the project and site teams, you'll keep commercial reporting accurate and timely and protect the business's position at every stage of the build.
Across hospitality fitouts, retail rollouts, heritage refurbishments and commercial workspaces, you'll run your projects with real autonomy - assessing risk, negotiating with subbies, and making sure the numbers stack up as cleanly as the finished space. No two projects look the same, and neither will your week.
What you'll need
- Experience as a Contract Administrator on commercial construction, fitout or refurbishment projects
- A solid grounding in subcontract procurement, contract law and commercial risk management
- A degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or similar (preferred, not essential)
- Sharp attention to detail and the confidence to deal directly with subcontractors and project stakeholders
- An appetite for variety - you'll thrive here if you want breadth, not the same project type on loop
Why this one
A close-knit team, a genuinely varied pipeline, and a business where your input carries weight from contract to completion. If you're after a CA role with substance and a seat at the table - this is it.
