Job Objective
The Client Accounting Specialist serves as the primary financial liaison for TLS prospective clients. The Client Accounting Specialist is responsible for reviewing and preparing client-facing financial reports and performing end-to-end procurement accounting services for assigned U.S.-based clients. In this client-facing role, you will directly advise clients on their engagement budgets and manage financial health to maximize mutual value while ensuring the accuracy and integrity of all accounting operations using TLS services.
This position oversees the full procurement cycle, including the three-way match, processing vendors' payments, and maintaining continuous communication with the client’s designated point of contact to obtain all required documentation in a timely manner. The Client Accounting Specialist maintains complete and organized financial records for each client, supports month-end closing activities, and assists in the preparation and distribution of financial reporting packages to be discussed with our TLS clients. This role contributes to the general operations of the finance department through reconciliations, the full accounting cycle, and ongoing monitoring of each client’s division financial performance.
Key Responsibilities
As a Client Accounting Specialist, your general duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Serve as the principal financial liaison for clients, addressing inquiries related to billing and financial documentation, with clarity and professionalism.
- Responsible for understanding the assigned client’s business in the U.S. and P.R. and maintaining direct contact with them on a regular basis to be informed of changes occurring in clients’ operations and needs.
- Properly and professionally manage the business relationship with assigned clients, specifically from a financial perspective.
- Lead quarterly financial review meetings with clients and procurement teams.
- Deliver clear, easy-to-understand explanations of project spend, burn rates, and budget forecasts for diverse client audiences.
- Onboard and train new clients in accordance with TLS Accounting timelines, processes, and procedures.
- Alert supervisor and management in a timely manner of any non-compliance or potential non-compliance issues and of changes in the client’s operations and needs, using sole discretion based on the impacts on the client’s revenue.
- Overseeing and reporting clients’ accounts payable transactions by processing information updated on a regular basis, prioritizing invoices according to payment terms.
- Billing and collecting professional fees, including Design Phase Fees.
- Manages bookkeeping and financial activity for the assigned divisions.
- Prepares monthly financial statements and reconciles monthly subsidiary ledgers (with the General Ledger).
- Maintains the integrity of accounting and budgeting software systems by analyzing information, checking for errors, and inconsistencies.
- Develops financial reports based on database structures and financial statements, as needed by management.
- Responsible for preparing Management Discussion Analysis reports for active clients.
- Completes Monthly Scorecard and Three-Way Match Analysis Report, and any other analysis and client statistics to be presented in the PRS Client Meetings.
- Supports annual financial and tax audits by preparing required documentation.
- Ensures compliance with the regulatory guidance and internal accounting policies.
- Complies with all applicable regulatory guidance and internal accounting policies and procedures.
- Responsible for performing work consistently, accurately, and in a timely manner, while complying with due dates.
- Protects the Organization’s values by keeping information confidential.
- Other projects as assigned by Management.
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration, or related field, with 2-3 years of experience in a client -facing finance, Accounting, and Account Management, or Consulting Operations role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS) and financial reporting.
- Strong understanding of financial statements, reconciliations, AP/AR process, and procurement accounting.
- Extensive knowledge of computer software, including Microsoft Office, Outlook, and QuickBooks, with advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, impeccable attention to detail, organizational skills with strategic thinking and planning, customer service-oriented.
- Ability to work on multiple, complex projects simultaneously and see them to completion with limited supervision.
Salary Range
- $45,000.00 to $46,000.00 per year
- The posted salary range applies to candidates who hold a Bachelor's Degree and have between 2 and 3 years of experience.
