The Budget Management Associate supports the development, implementation, monitoring, and analysis of budgets and financial plans. This role works closely with internal departments, senior team members, government agencies, advisors, and other stakeholders to support accurate financial planning and alignment with the Fiscal Plan.


Key Responsibilities

  • Gather, organize, and analyze financial data to support budget planning and certification.
  • Assist with the preparation and consolidation of departmental budgets and forecasts.
  • Prepare financial reports and summaries to monitor budget performance, trends, and variances.
  • Maintain budgeting templates, financial models, and supporting documentation.
  • Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, discrepancies, risks, and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Assist in evaluating budget reprogramming requests for consistency with fiscal plans and policies.
  • Support the development and review of the Fiscal Plan.
  • Ensure budgeting activities follow established financial policies, guidelines, and regulations.
  • Coordinate budget timelines, track milestones, and communicate relevant updates.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, government agencies, advisors, and other stakeholders.
  • Provide analytical and administrative support for budget-related meetings and projects.


External Relationships

Frequent contact with advisors, government agencies, attorneys and other stakeholders as needed


Supervisory responsibilities

This position does not involve supervisory responsibility


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 0–2 years of experience in budgeting, financial planning, accounting, or a related field; relevant internships or project experience may qualify.
  • Project management experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of budgeting, financial reporting, financial statement analysis, and financial planning.
  • Strong Excel skills, including financial modeling, data analysis, pivot tables, and complex formulas.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and identify trends, variances, and potential issues.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize responsibilities, meet deadlines, and handle confidential information appropriately.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish.
