Sourcing Specialist - Transportation Systems

This position will report to the Transportation Systems Division Purchasing Section Manager and is a hybrid position 4 days a week onsite in Freedom, PA.
What You’ll Do
- Manage supplier subcontracts through evaluation, qualification, selection, negotiation, costing and project management.
- Manage supplier performance, in relation to cost, quality, delivery to meet KPIs, sustainability, and innovation KPIs, ensuring regular business reviews and corrective action as needed.
- Develop, lead, and implement comprehensive sourcing strategies for assigned categories that align with the organization's corporate goals, meet divisional and operational requirements, and optimize total cost of ownership (TCO).
- Resolve commercial and technical supplier issues and actions serving as liaison between supplier and MEPPI.
- Lead cross-divisional sourcing initiatives, ensuring project plans, milestones, and deliverables are aligned with stakeholder expectations, compliance requirements, and project timelines.
- Analyze category spend, supplier market trends, risk profiles, and cost drivers to identify savings opportunities, innovation potential, and supply market shifts.
- Create detailed supplier evaluation and risk analysis and present supplier recommendations to MEPPI management and stakeholders.
- Identify, research, and evaluate potential suppliers in alignment with strategic sourcing principles.
- Support divisional processes to qualify new suppliers and components.
- Identify supplier capability gaps and create corresponding development and maturation plan to support MEPPI projects.
- Lead Supply chain efforts for proposal teams. Create opportunity-specific sourcing strategy with MEPPI Program Management.
- Develop, negotiate, and author subcontracts for major equipment managing the technical exceptions and customer flow-downs.
- Manage subcontractor performance on existing subcontracts to ensure contract compliance; develop and enforce corrective actions/resolutions for contract issues.
- Monitor project cost performance and implement procurement strategies designed to reduce current and future project costs.
- Identify and track cost savings/overruns and facilitate resolution between engineering and subcontract supplier.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management or related field and minimum 8 years’ experience managing large-scale subcontracts in transit environment or related field, or equivalent education and experience.
- Advanced MS Excel modeling.
- Developed logical and critical thinking skills including the ability to develop, analyze and draw conclusions to problems requiring quantitative results.
- Advanced interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills within cross-cultural work environment.
- Advanced computer skills with Microsoft Office products ERP Systems (preferably Syteline).
