Contracts Manager Summary Of Responsibilities
- Lead the administration of prime contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, equipment leases, professional services agreements, and other commercial contracts from award through project closeout.
- Review, draft, and negotiate contract terms while ensuring proper flow-down of contractual obligations, insurance requirements, bonding provisions, prevailing wage requirements, and public agency compliance.
- Advise project managers on contract interpretation, notice requirements, change orders, Requests for Equitable Adjustment (REAs), claims documentation, and contractual risk.
- Manage contract records, correspondence, modifications, and supporting documentation to protect the company's contractual rights and strengthen claim defense.
- Coordinate lien rights, bond claims, certificates of insurance, and subcontract compliance while supporting federal contracting requirements, including FAR/DFARS, Davis-Bacon, Buy America, and DBE/MBE/WBE programs.
- Partner with Corporate Counsel and outside legal counsel to support dispute resolution, mediation, arbitration, litigation, and continuous improvement of contract templates, policies, and best practices.
- Bachelor's degree required; paralegal certification or J.D. is a plus.
- Minimum 5 years of experience drafting, negotiating, redlining, and administering construction contracts.
- Experience supporting public infrastructure or heavy civil construction projects with a strong understanding of change orders, REAs, delay claims, and contract administration.
- Working knowledge of federal and public agency contracting requirements, including FAR/DFARS, Corps of Engineers, DOT, Davis-Bacon, certified payroll, and DBE/MBE compliance.
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate commercial contract terms while balancing legal, financial, and operational risk.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software such as Procore, Viewpoint, CMiC, or similar.
- Professional certifications such as CCCA or CCP are a plus.

SAFETY SENSITIVE POSITION
This is a Safety Sensitive Position requiring work on project sites, including federal projects. Project sites contain various safety hazards associated with heavy construction. This position may require working at heights, around heavy equipment, and under constantly changing circumstances. This position will be subject to more stringent drug testing and compliance policies associated with our status as a Federal Contractor.
