Role Description The Preconstruction Coordinator is a full-time, hybrid role responsible for supporting preconstruction activities from early project planning through handoff to operations. This role involves coordinating project documentation, assisting with takeoffs and estimates, and organizing bid packages and subcontractor proposals. The Preconstruction Coordinator will assist in design development coordination, help track schedules and milestones, support value engineering efforts, and maintain up-to-date records in project management and estimating systems. Daily responsibilities include collaborating with project managers, communicating with vendors and trade partners, and preparing clear reports and summaries for internal stakeholders. The role requires strong attention to detail, time management, and the ability to work independently while supporting multiple projects concurrently.
Qualifications
- Experience in construction or design-build environments, preferably in preconstruction, estimating support, or project coordination.
- Proficiency with construction documents, including drawings, specifications, and scope narratives, and ability to interpret them accurately.
- Familiarity with estimating tools or spreadsheets, and comfort working with quantities, pricing, and budget tracking.
- Strong organizational and planning skills, including managing multiple deadlines, maintaining detailed records, and prioritizing tasks effectively.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills for collaborating with internal teams, clients, and trade partners in a remote setting.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating initiative and accountability in a remote work environment.
- Proficiency in standard office and collaboration software (e.g., Microsoft Office, PDF markup tools, and online project platforms).
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, business, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of current market conditions and manpower planning is preferred.
