Staff Accountant

About the Role:

We are partnering with a well-established nonprofit in the Burlington area seeking a Staff Accountant to join their collaborative team. This role offers strong exposure across the close process, financial reporting, and grant accounting.

Responsibilities:

• Perform grant accounting, including tracking and analyzing grant-related costs to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Prepare financial reports and support month-end close activities
• Manage invoicing for cost reimbursement and ensure timely submissions
• Partner with the Finance Director and AP Manager to ensure proper GL coding and accurate expense tracking
• Assist in maintaining and updating an approved vendor list
• Coordinate, monitor, and verify per capita distribution checks

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field with 3+ years of experience
• Strong understanding of GAAP
• Experience with full-cycle accounting and financial reporting
• Exposure to grant accounting is a plus
