Associate Finance Manager – Surgical Vision (Thailand)
Role Overview
The Associate Finance Manager, Surgical Vision is a key finance business partner supporting the Surgical Vision commercial organization in Thailand.
This role focuses on financial planning & analysis, performance management, distributor support, and financial operations, enabling informed decision-making in a regulated, distributor-led environment.
In addition to market responsibilities, the role carries broader SEA cluster scope, including ownership of SEA OPEX planning and monitoring, and finance support for a selected smaller SEA market (e.g., Indonesia or Philippines).
This is an individual contributor role, suited for a hands-on finance professional seeking strong commercial exposure within a high-growth medical device business.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Planning & Business Partnering
- Partner with the assigned market commercial team to support financial planning, forecasting, and performance analysis
- Lead annual budget, forecast, and rolling estimate cycles, ensuring accuracy and timely submissions
- Analyze business performance, identify key risks and opportunities, and provide clear financial insights to stakeholders
- Review and support deal models, pricing scenarios, and investment cases in line with internal guidelines
- Support financial tracking and compliance for equipment and bundled commercial agreements
- Support monthly financial close activities, including accrual reviews, variance analysis, and result commentary
- Extract and analyze data from finance systems to support timely reporting, insight generation and decision-making
- Review distributor and vendor payment requests for accuracy and correct financial treatment
- Act as a finance contact for business queries, ensuring clarity on financial processes and policies
- Support finance-related aspects of distributor operations, including pricing setup, payments, and inventory-related topics
- Assist with distributor contract reviews from a finance perspective
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and maintain appropriate financial documentation and controls
- Provide timely financial insights and performance updates for the assigned market to the SEA Cluster LT
- Support alignment of market plans with cluster priorities, targets, and resource allocation
- Contribute to cluster-level discussions on risks, opportunities, and performance drivers
- Ensure consistency of financial messaging, assumptions, and compliance standards across markets
- Own SEA OPEX planning and tracking, ensuring visibility, discipline, and alignment with cluster priorities
- Provide finance support to a selected smaller SEA market (e.g., Indonesia or Philippines)
- Support resource allocation decisions and performance tracking across the SEA cluster
- Drive continuous improvement in financial processes, reporting, and analytics by leveraging digital tools, visualization techniques and automation opportunities to enhance efficiency and insight generation
- Support regional initiatives and ad hoc analyses, applying digital and data-driven approaches to enhance decision-making and operational efficiency
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline
- 8-10 years of relevant finance experience, preferably in FP&A, commercial finance, or distributor-managed markets
- Experience in medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or other regulated industries is an advantage
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into clear business insights
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; experience with ERP and planning systems (e.g., SAP, Anaplan) preferred
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with cross-functional stakeholders
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
- Demonstrates strong digital agility, with the ability to leverage finance systems, analytics, visualization, and emerging technology-enabled tools to improve financial processes, insight generation, and decision-making
- Broad exposure to commercial finance within a leading medical device business
