The essential duties and responsibilities of the Grants & Contracts Officer II are the following::
- Works on new grant proposals with faculty as assigned by supervisor.
- Ensure all proposal elements (required documentation, budget, cost share, sub-contracts, etc) are consistent, accurate, and complete.
- Develop budgets and budget justifications which include proofing the budget.
- Advise the PIs on administrative requirements in preparing proposal submissions.
- Monitor compliance with agency and university regulations regarding submission;verify all financial information to include application of the appropriate F&A and fringe benefit rates for the project.
- Assigned complex submissions that include interdisciplinary proposals with other units and sub-awards.
- Works in collaboration with OSPA on final proposal submissions in various sponsor portals.
- Receives feedback on final proposals and assists Pl with making corrections as needed per the suggestions of OSPA.
- Works with PIs on new award setup for initial awards.
- Assists Pl with updating budgets and routing new awards in the research portal for setup by OSPA.
- Works with PIs on setting up advance accounts for pre-award spending when necessary.
- Works collaboratively with college administrative staff to obtain backup accounts and routes advance accounts through the research portal for approval.
- Assists PIs with a variety of forms that may be necessary for final proposal submission and internal approvals, including but not limited to F&A waivers, F&A split forms, and sponsor-specific forms for signature.
- Keeps pre-award files updated and maintained on the shared drive for CAS research administration.
- Acts as backup for the pre-award Assistant Director when needed.
- Works collaboratively with post-award G&C officers in CAS on various issues, including effort, re-budgeting, and allowable costs on sponsored projects.
- Other duties assigned.
- Bachelor's degree and three years of related experience or a combination of education and related experience.
Department: Faculty Development Year One
Shift: 8:30 AM - 5:15 PM
Salary : $55,100 - $69,000
Pay Grade: 19
FLSA Status: Exempt
