Our Mission

At constellr, we're harnessing the power of space to solve one of Earth's greatest challenges: climate resilience & security in a changing world. Our thermal satellite constellation delivers the most accurate land surface temperature data on the market, equipping commercial players, governments, defence agencies, and global institutions with the thermal intelligence they need to make strategic decisions– from national security and infrastructure to agriculture and climate resilience.

As a fast-scaling company with offices in Brussels, Freiburg, Munich, Washington and Toulouse, our multidisciplinary team of engineers, scientists, and strategists is building the future of space-based Earth observation

Your Role

As Junior Controller, you will support financial planning, reporting, and business analysis across constellr. Your day-to-day will include hands-on budgeting work directly with Cost Center Owners, alongside forecasting, development of business cases, and management reporting — helping improve the quality and scalability of financial decision-making.

This is a high-impact role for someone who wants to develop within Controlling and Financial Planning, in a fast-paced, driven space technology company. You will work closely with other Finance team members, Cost Center Owners, and key business stakeholders across functions like Operations, Sales, and Programme Management in a business partner role, turning data into clear insights and helping build scalable planning and reporting processes as the company grows.

Key responsibilities

  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes.
  • Prepare management reporting, KPI analysis, and performance review materials.
  • Perform variance analysis, identifying key business drivers, risks, and opportunities.
  • Maintain planning models, dashboards, reporting tools, and recurring finance templates.
  • Support business cases, scenario analysis, and ad hoc financial projects.
  • Partner with budget owners across the business to support planning, reporting, and decision-making.
  • Contribute to process improvements, data quality, and reporting standardization.

Job requirements

About you

Required:

  • 2+ years of experience in Controlling, FP&A, business analysis, consulting, finance analytics or a similar analytical role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate data into insights and recommendations.
  • Solid Excel skills and confidence working with financial data, models and recurring reporting.
  • Curious, business-oriented mindset with an interest in understanding how operations, projects and financial performance connect.
  • Ability to simplify complex topics and communicate findings clearly to different stakeholders.
  • Comfortable working with finance and non-finance teams across the organization.
  • Fluent German and English.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with reporting, planning, ERP or BI tools.
  • Experience in project-based, R&D-intensive, high-growth or venture-backed environments.
  • Experience supporting budget owners or management reporting processes.
  • Exposure to financial modeling, dashboards, automation or process improvement.

Why join constellr?

  • High-Impact National Security Mission: Be part of an ambitious mission to launch the world's first commercial thermal infrared constellation, delivering sovereign-grade "behavioural" intelligence from space to close critical blind spots for defence, intelligence, and maritime surveillance agencies.
  • Fast-Paced "New Space" Innovation: Work at the leading edge of a rapidly evolving defence sector. By leveraging modern, agile New Space methodologies, you will help design, build, and deploy dual-use thermal payloads into operational orbit at a speed and scale that traditional aerospace models simply cannot match.
  • Broad Interdisciplinary Exposure: Accelerate your professional growth by collaborating daily with a diverse, international cohort of astrophysicists, software developers, and defence-system engineers.
  • Inclusive & Scientific Culture: Join a high-trust team deeply committed to diversity, inclusion, and scientific excellence, where academic curiosity is paired with high autonomy and a flat hierarchy.
  • Financial Upside & Well-being: Benefit from a Virtual Share Option Plan (VSOP) for permanent employees, giving you a true stake in the company's growth, alongside highly flexible hybrid working models.
