Inventory Manager — GMI Cloud (Taiwan)
Location: Taipei, Taiwan (Hybrid)
About GMI Cloud
GMI Cloud is a fast-growing, AI-native infrastructure company delivering high-performance GPU compute, inference services, and infrastructure for AI agents.
Following 8x ARR growth, GMI Cloud continues to scale rapidly across the U.S. and APAC. As a Reference Platform NVIDIA Cloud Partner (NCP) and a validated leading NCP across both markets, we power production AI for leading AI-native companies including Fireworks AI, Cartesia, Reflection, and OpenRouter.
From large-scale compute to optimized inference and agentic workloads, GMI Cloud gives AI teams the infrastructure they need to build, deploy, and scale on one unified cloud.
One cloud for compute, inference, and agents.
Job Summary
We are looking for an Inventory Manager to own the physical custody and accuracy of GMI Cloud's hardware inventory in Taiwan — GPUs, CPUs, networking equipment, optics and spares whose unit values run into the tens of thousands of US dollars and whose availability directly gates data center deployment.
This is a hands-on, own-the-warehouse role, not a vendor-management role. If your inventory experience has been running an outsourced VMI arrangement and reading someone else's stock report, this is not the right fit. We are scaling fast across the U.S. and APAC, and we need someone who owns the shelf, the count, and the number.
Key Responsibilities
1. Warehouse Operations — our own facility, not outsourced
- Own day-to-day operations of GMI Cloud's warehouse in Taiwan: receiving, put-away, picking, staging and dispatch, with written SOPs for each.
- Own storage layout, zoning and space planning for large-format data center freight — rack-scale shipments, palletised server loads and oversized cargo.
- Own physical security and access control for high-value storage areas.
- Plan warehouse capacity against inbound shipment schedules and data center deployment waves.
2. Custody of high-value and controlled materials
- Maintain serial-level custody of GPUs, CPUs, optical transceivers, switches and other high-value or export-controlled components.
- Maintain chain-of-custody records adequate for audit and for export-control obligations on ECCN-classified items.
- Manage the spares pool, RMA flow and DOA quarantine stock.
- Own shrinkage and loss on high-value SKUs — investigate every variance to a root cause, not a write-off.
3. Inventory accuracy and control
- Own Inventory Accuracy Rate as your headline KPI.
- Design and run a cycle-counting program plus periodic full physical stock takes; investigate and close every variance.
- Keep WMS and ERP records as the physical source of truth, reconciled against ITAM records and against our node inventory system.
- Set and enforce min/max, safety stock and reorder triggers at SKU level, executing the buffer-stock policy set by Demand Planning.
4. Coordination across the supply chain
- Work with Logistics on import and export documentation, IOR/EOR arrangements, HTS/ECCN classification and any bonded or duty-suspension arrangements.
- Work with Data Center Operations on last-mile delivery windows and rack-and-stack readiness.
- Where any portion of warehousing is outsourced to a 3PL or run as VMI, own the SLA, the audit rights and the reconciliation.
5. Build-out
- Support the establishment of additional storage capacity as GMI Cloud scales its APAC footprint, including standing up new sites where required.
Required Qualifications
- 6+ years in warehouse or inventory management, including at least 3 years directly operating an in-house warehouse — not solely managing an outsourced VMI or 3PL arrangement.
- Hands-on experience with high-value or export-controlled goods — semiconductors, servers, GPUs, networking equipment or comparable.
- Demonstrated ownership of large-format and oversized freight receiving and storage planning.
- Working command of WMS and ERP (NetSuite preferred). You should be comfortable owning data accuracy in the system, not only reading reports out of it.
- Enough import/export knowledge to work alongside Logistics on customs, IOR/EOR and controlled-item classification.
- Working English — you will coordinate with our U.S. and APAC teams and with international vendors.
Nice to Have
- Data center, hyperscale or high-tech manufacturing environment experience.
- Experience standing up a warehouse from scratch.
- RFID or barcode deployment; cycle-count program design.
- CSCP, CPIM or CITAM certification.
- Mandarin and English bilingual.
How We Will Measure This Role
- Inventory Accuracy Rate
- Stock-out incidents against the data center deployment schedule
- Shrinkage and loss value on high-value SKUs
- Receiving-to-put-away cycle time
- Time to close a physical count variance
