Some of your daily tasks will include:
Production planning and scheduling
- Plan and maintain production slots across internal and subcontracted facilities, balancing capacity, priority, and lead times
- Sequence jobs to meet program milestones and delivery commitments, and re-plan when priorities, capacity, or material availability change
- Maintain the production schedule in the ERP/MRP system and keep status visibility current for stakeholders
- Order materials and components against the production plan, coordinating with suppliers on lead times and delivery dates
- Plan procurement based on BOM requirements, accounting for long-lead items, minimum order quantities, and obsolescence risk
- Monitor inventory levels and trigger replenishment to avoid line stoppages while controlling excess stock
- Allocate and distribute materials to the correct production or assembly facilities according to the schedule
- Coordinate kit completeness so production slots start with all required materials on hand
- Track material in transit and consignment/bonded stock across facilities
- Act as the planning interface between procurement, warehouse, quality, and subcontractors
- Maintain and report on production status, on-time delivery, and material availability
- Flag risks (capacity shortfalls, material shortages, supplier delays) early and drive resolution
- Degree in engineering, supply chain, operations, or a related field
- Experience in production planning and/or material planning in a manufacturing or regulated hardware environment
- Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and BOM structures
- Understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes
- Strong coordination skills across suppliers and internal functions; comfortable managing shifting priorities
- Attention to detail, traceability discipline, and data accuracy
- Familiarity with space/aerospace quality requirements
- Experience with long-lead and low-volume/lumpy demand planning
- Experience coordinating subcontracted production
