Role Description This full-time, on-site Customs Specialist role is based in the San Antonio, Texas Metropolitan Area. The Customs Specialist is responsible for coordinating and monitoring import and export activities, ensuring accurate documentation, and maintaining compliance with U.S. and international customs regulations. Daily tasks include preparing and reviewing customs entries, working with customs brokers, logistics providers, and internal teams, and resolving customs-related issues or delays. The role involves maintaining up-to-date records, tracking shipments, and supporting internal audits and reporting requirements. The Customs Specialist will also collaborate with purchasing, logistics, and finance teams to optimize processes, minimize duties and fees where appropriate, and support overall supply chain efficiency.
Qualifications
  • Candidates should possess skills in Customs Brokerage and related customs compliance processes.
  • Candidates should possess strong Import and Export skills for managing cross-border shipments.
  • Candidates should possess Import Export skills for coordinating end-to-end international trade activities.
  • Candidates should possess clear and effective Communication skills for working with internal teams, brokers, and authorities.
  • Knowledge of U.S. customs regulations, trade compliance, and tariff classification (HTS) is beneficial.
  • Experience with logistics, transportation, or supply chain operations in a manufacturing or industrial environment is helpful.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems, shipment tracking tools, and standard office software is preferred.
  • An associate or bachelor’s degree in business, international trade, supply chain, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, is desirable.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple shipments and deadlines are important.
