A well-established international logistics and Customs Brokerage organization is seeking an experienced Customs Entry Writer Ocean Imports / FDA-PGA to join its collaborative import operations team. This is an excellent opportunity for a Customs professional who thrives in a high-volume environment and brings strong FDA/PGA, entry processing, and import compliance experience.


Key Responsibilities

  • Process Customs entries in a high-volume brokerage environment.
  • Review and organize import files to ensure documentation is accurate and complete.
  • Process Customs entries in a high-volume brokerage environment.
  • Communicate with Customer Service regarding missing client documentation or information.
  • Classify documentation according to operational system data and client-specific SOPs.
  • Support classification and Customs compliance requirements.
  • Research and provide HTS/product codes when necessary.
  • Input Customs entry data and process FDA/PGA requirements, including "May Proceed" releases.
  • Monitor FDA exams and communicate document or merchandise examination requirements.
  • Prepare and annotate delivery orders with FDA release information.
  • Communicate hold/release instructions to carriers and steamship lines.
  • Monitor Customs, FDA, and other government agency releases.
  • Identify and resolve census and entry errors.
  • Correct Bill of Lading and related documentation errors.
  • Transfer completed files to Post-Entry for final processing.


Qualifications

  • 3+ years of hands-on Customs Entry Writing and/or Customs Brokerage operations experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to process a high volume of Customs entries; experience handling approximately 98–200 entries per month strongly preferred.
  • Hands-on FDA/PGA processing experience.
  • Working knowledge of HTS classification/product codes.
  • Experience monitoring Customs and other government agency releases.
  • Knowledge of U.S. and international geography, including countries, cities, and ocean ports.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and multitasking skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
