Role Summary
We’re looking for a Logistics Coordinator – Marine to support Inqlha’s port and container transportation operations. The role is responsible for coordinating outsourced trucks, managing container movements, monitoring port and terminal activities, controlling documentation, and ensuring smooth execution from pickup through delivery and trip closure.
Success in This Role Looks Like
- Marine transport orders are fulfilled on time with the right truck and driver
- Container pickups, deliveries, and empty returns are closely monitored
- Port and terminal delays are identified and escalated early
- PODs, EIRs, container numbers, seals, and supporting documents are complete and accurate
- Reliable transport partners are available at competitive rates
- Detention and waiting-time exposure is properly documented and controlled
- Customers receive accurate and timely shipment updates
Responsibilities
- Source and coordinate outsourced trucks for port, terminal, and container transportation requirements
- Verify truck, driver, container, and shipment details before dispatch
- Coordinate container pickup, gate-in/gate-out, delivery, and empty-container return where applicable
- Monitor port and terminal milestones and maintain accurate trip-status updates
- Track container numbers, seals, PODs, EIRs, gate records, and other operational documentation
- Coordinate with drivers, fleet owners, customers, terminals, and relevant logistics stakeholders
- Monitor waiting time, detention, delays, truck rejection, and other operational exceptions
- Negotiate trip-level supplier rates within approved guidelines and maintain rate competitiveness
- Arrange replacement trucks when breakdowns, cancellations, or operational failures occur
- Ensure completed trips are fully documented, billing-ready, and closed accurately in the Inqlha system
- Support supplier-performance monitoring and identify reliable capacity for recurring marine operations
- Escalate cargo damage, documentation issues, port delays, or other significant service risks promptly
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain, Maritime Transport, Transportation Management, or a related field
- Professional logistics certification such as CILT, APICS CLTD, or equivalent is an advantage
- Port, container operations, customs awareness, or maritime logistics training is highly preferred
- Good working knowledge of Excel, GPS tracking, TMS, or digital logistics platforms
