About The Opportunity

As a Lagger for Austal Defence Australia (ADA), you'll be responsible for the installation of thermal insulation, fire protection systems and lagging solutions across defence vessel projects. Working within the Production Fitout team, you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality work safely, efficiently and to required standards, while contributing to a productive and collaborative work environment.

What's Involved

  • Installation of thermal insulation and structural fire protection systems
  • Performing lagging activities to agreed quality standards and class requirements
  • Safe operation and maintenance of trade-related hand and power tools
  • Maintaining a clean, organised and safe work environment
  • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and waste reduction
  • Working collaboratively with team members to meet project schedules and production targets
  • Following company procedures, work instructions and HSEQ requirements

You'll Need

  • Experience in lagging, insulation installation, structural fire protection, or a similar trade environment.
  • Understanding of thermal insulation and fire protection installation methods.
  • Ability to perform work to agreed quality standards, specifications and class requirements.
  • Experience using trade-related hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety, housekeeping and quality procedures.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and adapt to a variety of production activities.
  • Good communication, time management and organisational skills (Desirable).
  • Previous marine insulation or shipbuilding experience, and/or High Risk Work Licences (Forklift and EWP) (Desirable).
