About The Role

We are currently seeking an Area Operations Manager for Oslo. The role holds overall responsibility for the management and development of operational units within the assigned area, including Gateway and Ground Operations.

The position is responsible for ensuring efficient operations in line with defined targets within Safety, Employee Engagement, Productivity, Service Quality, Cost, and Compliance, while driving continuous improvement of processes and structures.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and develop daily operations and facilities within the area of responsibility, ensuring efficient shipment handling and seamless integration with national and international network operations.
• Ensure achievement of operational objectives and performance targets related to Health & Safety, employee engagement, productivity, service quality, cost control, and compliance, including the identification of deviations and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
• Optimize resources, processes, and infrastructure through continuous improvement initiatives, benchmarking, and the implementation of best practices to drive operational excellence and performance.
• Lead and deliver improvement initiatives, projects, and investments with significant business impact, including budget planning, financial management, and investment follow-up.
• Support business growth and development through close collaboration with operational, commercial, and finance functions, while contributing to commercial activities and strategic initiatives.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including DHL network partners, customers, suppliers, service providers, government authorities, airport operators, and regulatory bodies.

• Lead operational teams consisting of supervisors and team leaders
• Develop employees and foster a strong performance culture

• Solid leaders7hip experience from operations or logistics
• Strong understanding of operational processes and value chains

• Good understanding of the market and competitive landscape
• Holistic business mindset

• Minimum 5 years of leadership experience at department level
• Preferably 3–5 years of experience in a production or operational environment
• Minimum 8+ years of relevant professional experience overall
• Relevant higher education is an advantage
