About The Role
We are looking for an Operations Manager - Trade Documentation to own the end-to-end documentation lifecycle for our export shipments. You will work at the intersection of compliance, customs, and freight operations, ensuring every document is accurate, complete, and filed on time across all trade lanes.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and manage core export & import documents - Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, Bill of Lading, Shipping Bills, Certificates of Origin, and sector-specific certificates (FSSAI, Phyto, APEDA, etc.)
- Coordinate with Customs House Agents (CHAs), freight partners, and shipping lines to ensure timely document submission and BL release
- Validate documents for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with importer country regulations and DGFT/FEMA guidelines
- Handle HS code classification, duty drawback documentation, and post-shipment incentive filings (RoDTEP, MEIS/RoSCTL where applicable)
- Liaise with clients to collect shipment inputs and resolve documentation discrepancies proactively
- Maintain structured digital records of all shipment documents and ensure audit-readiness at all times
- Identify process gaps and contribute to building scalable documentation workflows across sectors
- 2–3 years of hands-on experience in export documentation / trade compliance / CHA operations
- Strong working knowledge of Indian export regulations, customs procedures, and documentation requirements
- Familiarity with DGFT, ICEGATE, and port/customs filing processes
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple live shipments simultaneously
- Good communication skills for coordination with clients, agents, and regulatory bodies
