Job Purpose:Team Member - Sales and Marketing supports the pursuit of global business opportunities, engaging in sales and marketing efforts, collaborating with stakeholders, and meeting sales targets to fuel the company's revenue growth.
Responsibilities
Pricing & Quotations
- Prepare and issue accurate freight quotations for ocean FCL/LCL, road, and multimodal shipments.
- Analyze market rates, carrier tariffs, and surcharge structures to develop competitive pricing.
- Work closely with the sales team to respond to RFQs and tenders within agreed turnaround times.
- Maintain and update the internal rate management system with current buy and sell rates.
- Evaluate lane-level profitability and provide pricing recommendations to management.
- Source, negotiate, and secure competitive rates from ocean carriers, airlines, trucking companies, and co-loaders.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with carrier and agent networks (IATA, FIATA, WCA, etc.).
- Monitor market trends, capacity availability, and seasonal rate fluctuations to optimize procurement strategies.
- Conduct periodic rate reviews and renegotiate contracts to ensure cost competitiveness.
- Evaluate new carrier and vendor partnerships to expand the company's service capabilities.
- Support the business development team with pricing inputs for client proposals and presentations.
- Participate in customer meetings and tender processes as a pricing subject matter expert.
- Collaborate with operations to ensure quoted services are operationally executable.
- Provide ad hoc market intelligence and rate benchmarking to assist in strategic decision-making.
- Maintain accurate records of all rate agreements, contracts, and procurement terms.
- Produce regular pricing performance reports, margin analyses, and win/loss rate tracking.
- Ensure compliance with all trade regulations, customs requirements, and internal pricing policies.
- Support the finance team with cost reconciliation and dispute resolution on carrier invoices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Commerce, Business Administration, or a related field
- Preferred: MBA / PG Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain, or International Business
