Stability, Load Line and Tonnage Certification Team Lead

Role Purpose

A technically skilled marine professional with experience in ship stability, load line and tonnage regulations. You will perform statutory assessments, approvals and certifications while providing technical support to clients and colleagues across a global maritime environment.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct stability, load line and tonnage assessments and approvals.

Perform statutory certifications on behalf of flag administrations.

Review plans and provide technical advice to internal and external stakeholders.

Deliver reports, certifications and approvals within agreed timelines and standards.

Recommend practical technical solutions to customers and colleagues.

Support service improvements and process efficiencies.

Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, accreditation requirements and industry standards.

Maintain accurate documentation and complete administrative activities.

Share knowledge and support the development of team members.

Pursue continuous professional development and maintain technical knowledge.

Key Health & Safety Responsibilities

Assess the risks and work in a safe manner at all times, robustly implementing health and safety rules, instructions and systems and refuse to undertake work that compromises your safety or health.

Report in a timely manner all incidents including near miss and safety observations (NMSO), accidents and injuries and raise any health and safety concerns with your line manager.

Technical / Professional Qualifications / Requirements

Naval architect master/degree or equivalent from a tertiary organisation recognised by Lloyd’s Register within the relevant field of engineering or physical science (minimum of two years programme) or Qualifications from a marine or nautical institution and relevant sea-going experience as a certificated ship’s officer.

Membership of an appropriate professional institution.

Working towards achieving Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status.

Proficiency in the English Language commensurate with the work.

Knowledge and working experience with Stability, Loadline and Tonnage regulations/ instruments for various Ship types.

Knowledge and experience with the AutoCAD, Rhinoceros, NAPA or similar naval architecture software.
