Job Summary
The Solutions Design Manager is responsible for analyzing the end-to-end supply chain value chain and designing cost-effective, innovative, and operationally feasible logistics solutions for both new and existing customers. The role involves data gathering, process and facility design, labor and resource planning, and solution costing, while ensuring alignment with commercial guidelines and operational capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Business Development (BD) and Account Management (AM) teams in developing commercially competitive and innovative solutions for new business, renewals, and expansions.
- Gather and analyze customer data to design end-to-end logistics solutions, including warehouse, transport, and value-added services.
- Develop detailed solution designs covering facility layout, process flows, storage systems, and resource planning (manpower and equipment).
- Perform data analysis and modeling to translate customer requirements into operationally viable solutions, including network design, routing, and scheduling.
- Apply appropriate costing models and ensure alignment with commercial guidelines when developing proposals.
- Review proposals, identify risks, and ensure both operational and commercial feasibility prior to submission.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Operations, IT, Procurement, EHS, OPEX) to ensure solutions are practical, optimized, and aligned with business requirements.
- Apply Lean Six Sigma methodologies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in solution design.
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and provide guidance on modeling and design techniques to improve solution quality and efficiency.
- Support project implementation by ensuring proper handover to transition teams and providing guidance during implementation phases.
- Maintain and enhance solution design standards, tools, and playbooks to ensure consistency and effectiveness.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 4–5 years of experience in the supply chain or contract logistics industry, preferably within 3PL solution design.
- Strong experience in warehousing, distribution, and transport solution design and operations.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and develop practical solutions.
- Knowledge of modeling techniques, costing methodologies, and logistics systems (WMS/TMS).
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to balance cost, service, and operational feasibility.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills for internal and external collaboration.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and contribute to integrated end-to-end solutions.
- Continuous improvement mindset with familiarity in Lean or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Demonstrates professionalism, integrity, and strong business ethics.
