Job Description:
The Shipping Receiving & Inventory Specialist is responsible for adhering to task and policies set by the Senior Shipping Receiving Inventory Manger and Operations Department.
The Shipping Receiving & Inventory Specialist is required to work closely with Operations Managers and Internal Teams to help those departments with any aspect of shipping receiving & inventory that touch each department within our company.
Job Responsibilities:
Shipping / Receiving Management
- Assist with incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness and are in proper shipping condition.
- Assist with activities of the workers in the shipping/ receiving department.
- Proficient operating skills with use of stand-up forklift.
- Study shipping/receiving/inventory processes for effectiveness.
- Verify and validate documentation/paperwork.
- Monitor and order all needed supplies for the department.
- Assist in cycle count for inventory control.
- Prepares and stage shipments based on delivery schedules.
- Stay late or on weekend to complete projects or late arriving shipments.
- Additional duties as assigned.
- Accurately provide inventory to production staff to complete production and sample work orders.
- Auditing Reports: Perform regular cycle counts of warehouse inventory, record audit trail in ERP with accounting and senior management.
- Responsible for reporting all accurate inventory matching inventory totals including proper labeling to Senior manager.
- Report any inventory weight variances to purchasing /operations / accounting as part of cycle count on regular basis as directed by senior manager.
- Additional duties as assigned.
- The Shipping/Receiving Inventory Specialist must be able to perform the tasks of both the Senior Manager and the 3rd Shift Production manager in case of absence.
- High School Diploma or GED required; College degree preferred.
- 2-3 years relevant experience in production, or warehouse in a manufacturing environment.
- Excellent oral and written proficiency in the English language.
- 1-2 years forklift use experience.
- Knowledge of Good manufacturing processes (GMP’s).
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Deadline oriented.
- IT skills - Proficiency in using common PC applications & inventory management software.
- Excellent ability to work with others.
- Detail-oriented
- Multitasking capabilities
- Cognitive (Reasoning):
- Apply principles of rational systems to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, visual, or schedule form.
- Communication:
- Vocalize and explain detailed data and problem-solve, both in-person and by telephone Must have good communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Compose routine correspondence on own initiative.
- Make comprehensive notes in English.
- May involve a large volume of such composition.
- Must have ability to work well under pressure.
