The Role

We are hiring an experienced Customs Clearance & Logistics Specialist based in Sancaktepe, Istanbul to manage our import/export operations in Turkey. This is a full-time, on-site role requiring deep hands-on knowledge of Turkish customs procedures and international logistics. You will take full ownership of customs documentation, compliance, and logistics coordination for SANY's machinery shipments, working closely with our customs manager and Chinese headquarters team.

Responsibilities

Customs Operations & Compliance

• Manage end-to-end preparation and submission of import/export customs declarations in full compliance with Turkish customs regulations (TAREKS, TPS, GTİP classification, KKDP, etc.).
• Ensure accuracy of all customs documents: commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, certificates of origin, and related files.
• Proactively identify and resolve customs issues, delays, and inspections; liaise directly with customs authorities when required.

Logistics Coordination

• Coordinate international shipments with freight forwarders, carriers, and customs brokers; track cargo status and manage escalations during transit.
• Oversee import/export timelines and ensure on-time delivery aligned with business requirements.

Data Management & Reporting

• Maintain complete and accurate records in the ERP system; ensure all logistics and customs data is organized and audit-ready.
• Prepare regular reports on shipment status, customs costs, and operational KPIs for internal stakeholders.

Cross-functional Communication

• Act as the primary point of contact for customs brokers, warehouses, suppliers, and freight partners.
• Coordinate closely with SANY's Chinese headquarters and local management on import/export planning and compliance updates.

Requirements

Mandatory

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in customs clearance, international logistics, or import/export operations in Turkey.
• Strong working knowledge of Turkish customs legislation, TAREKS/TPS systems, GTİP classification, and customs declaration processes.
• Proven ability to manage high-volume customs operations independently.
• Fluent English for daily communication with HQ and Chinese teams.
• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, International Trade, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word); experience with ERP systems.
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work under pressure.

Preferred

• Experience with machinery, heavy equipment, or industrial goods imports.
• Chinese language proficiency.
• Experience working with or within Chinese companies.
