Shape the Future of Global Trade at BMS
At Bristol-Myers Squibb, we're on a mission to transform patients' lives through science. Behind every medicine that reaches a patient is a world-class supply chain — and we need talented, driven professionals to keep it moving.
We're looking for a Manager, Customs and Trade, EMEAI to play a pivotal role in ensuring our life-saving medicines and materials flow seamlessly across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and India. If you thrive in a fast-paced, complex global environment and want your work to have real-world impact, this is the role for you.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Director, EMEAI Trade Compliance Lead, you'll be at the heart of BMS's customs and trade operations, supporting our commercial, clinical, and cell therapy businesses. You'll be a key driver of compliance, efficiency, and continuous improvement across the EMEAI region — working with multiple BMS entities and a broad network of internal and external stakeholders.
This is more than a compliance role. It's a chance to lead meaningful change, build robust trade frameworks, and ensure uninterrupted supply of medicines to patients who need them.
What You'll Do
- Drive Import & Export Excellence — Lead the efficient movement of all BMS materials across EMEAI, ensuring timely customs release and uninterrupted supply.
- Champion Compliance — Implement, monitor, and continuously improve adherence to BMS and EU/national Customs & Trade regulations.
- Lead Strategic Projects — Spearhead initiatives that strengthen Customs & Trade compliance across the region.
- Collaborate Across Functions — Partner with internal teams to ensure seamless customs clearance and onward supply of BMS materials and medicines.
- Apply Technical Expertise — Develop and manage key customs procedures including Tariff Classification, Import Authorisations, Export Licences, and Country of Origin & Preferential Determination.
- Engage Regulatory Authorities — Build and maintain effective relationships with customs and regulatory agencies across the region.
- Undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, or International Trade (preferred)
- 5+ years in Supply Chain, Finance, or Logistics within a bio-pharmaceutical environment
- At least 2 years in a dedicated Trade Compliance role
- Proven experience with regional and global customs regulations for import/export in both commercial and research settings
- Background in customs compliance, supply chain security, and cross-functional matrix environments
- A self-starter with a can-do attitude and a passion for continuous improvement
- Strong problem-solver who thrives when navigating complex, challenging situations
- Excellent communicator across all levels — from peers to senior management, internal and external stakeholders
- Multilingual capabilities are a definite plus
- Comfortable and effective in a multicultural, cross-border work environment
