Shipping Staff (6)

This position prepares finished goods for shipment. Verifies completeness of shipment against shipping order. Packs shipments, affixes shipping labels, and helps load trucks. Performs any other tasks assigned by the Shipping Manager.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Verifies completeness of shipment against shipping order
• Assembles, packs, protects, labels, and weighs shipments
• Loads and unloads trucks using material handling equipment and forklift
• Assists with any other tasks assigned by the Shipping Manager
• Maintains clean work area

• Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
• 1-3 months of related experience and/or training
• Combination of education and experience
• Good judgement of color, design, and print quality

• Able to read and comprehend instructions, correspondences, and memos
• Able to write simple correspondences
• Able to communicate effectively one-on-on and in groups with customers and other employees
• Able to perform basic mathematics (add, subtract, multiply, and divide) in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals

• Understand and carry out detailed but uninvolved written and/or oral instructions
• Problem solving

• Capable of using hands
• Standing for long periods of time
• Able to sit, stoop, kneel, or crouch for short periods of time
• Able to regularly lift and/or move 25 pounds
• Able to occasionally lift and/or move 50 pounds
