Job Summary
The Shipping and Receiving Associate is responsible for the receipt, staging and shipping of hospitality and multifamily network equipment in the areas of networking, guest experience, and building automation. In all cases, perform as an exceptional team player; partnering with other colleagues on other team activities to set expectations of a coordinated, timely, proactive, and well-executed approach to the delivery for all warehouse and logistic teams.
Successful employees have a high school diploma or GED certificate and three years of relevant work experience in a warehouse environment and may have a forklift certification or is trained for strict adherence to OSHA standards. Must have a demonstrated ability to operate with a high sense of urgency, professionalism, integrity, collaboration, and ethics and must be extremely flexible, an outstanding communicator, and have established skills in accuracy, organization, and time management.
This is a non-exempt role and is a member of the Logistics Department reporting directly to the Warehouse Supervisor with an in-person work location in Taylor, Michigan.
This business group and position, job function and duties require on-site work at the primary work location.
Essential Job Functions And Responsibilities
- With limited oversight, work independently to track inventory, keep accurate records, package, and weigh items, print shipping labels and postage, inspect goods received for damage, and distribute products to other departments. Receive inbound equipment via daily shipments including LTL and truck-load shipments.
- Collaborate and communicate with project managers, service and support representatives, salespeople, and others involved in the shipment and receipt of products.
- Demonstrates initiative to promptly unload trucks and deliveries to begin sorting and stocking receivables.
- Work with the warehouse team members to maintain internal organization of received equipment by stock or project designation.
- Use shipping records to verify the accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments and orders, proficiently prepare all deliverables setting expectations for a safe, timely, and accurate receipt to the project location. Unbox, label, and configure network equipment including switches, wireless access points, firewalls, servers, etc.
- Track daily inventory movements within NetSuite ERP system, taking initiative to reach out to other team members, cross functionally if needed to clarify and enter accurate data.
- Complete monthly inventory tracking reports and physical inventory counts.
- In all cases, perform as an exceptional team player; partnering with other colleagues on other team activities to set expectations of a coordinated, timely, proactive, and well-executed approach to the delivery for all warehouse and logistic teams. Perform as an ethical role model to positively influence employees.
- In all cases, maintain professional quality data integrity, recordkeeping, and operating procedures to support timely, innovative, and data-driven decisions, setting priorities aligned with senior management’s expectations, sophisticated analytics, and measurable outcomes.
- Perform all work in support of employee well-being, occupational health, safety and security, and business continuity planning.
- Agile for cross-training with the tech team and support their job functions when needed
- Collaborate to make recommendations and to maintain inventory and meticulous recordkeeping practices, setting expectations that records are preserved in accordance with policy, company standards, and regulation, and available for inquiries or examinations in real-time.

- Required to have a high school diploma or GED certificate. Preference for a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university (or international equivalent) in business, logistics, supply chain management, or another related field.
- Required to have a minimum of one year of relevant work experience preferably in a high-growth, warehouse environment working in a similar role
- Preferred forklift certification or trained for strict adherence to OSHA standards (i.e., OSHA 10 or 30-Hour).
- Must have a demonstrated ability to operate with a high sense of urgency, professionalism, integrity, collaboration, and ethics.
- Must be extremely flexible, an outstanding communicator, and have established skills in accuracy, organization, and time management.
- Demonstrated aptitude, high learning agility, and willingness to learn warehouse operations and best practices for a technology company.
- Must be able to work effectively as a team member in a fast paced, and high-volume work environment, operating with a high level of detail and conscientiousness.
- Required to have demonstrated basic level PC skills with the ability to effectively operate within a Windows Operating System and Windows based programs such as Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, SharePoint, and Teams. Preference to have entry level experience with NetSuite ERP system.
- Strong preference to have experience with cloud-based collaboration tools.
- Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills with a customer service focus in the English language.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, and walk; use hands/fingers to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb, balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk and hear.
